A Brief History of the NJSLA
They set the standards, and their tradition continues. From the original 12 to the present 61+, the "Surplus Lines Association of New Jersey, Inc." grows larger and stronger. We remain dedicated and committed to serving and fulfilling the various, unique and specific insurance needs of New Jersey's residences and businesses. The Surplus Lines Association of New Jersey, Inc. was formed and incorporated in the State of New Jersey as a nonprofit corporation for the following: Our Purpose - "The NJSLA is dedicated to promoting the interests of agents, organizations, and individuals that support the Surplus Lines Industry and distribution system. Our Business - The Association will conduct educational, regulatory, legislative, and promotional activities in a spirit of cooperation, goodwill and Our Values - good faith, while maintaining and encouraging the highest professional standards on behalf of the membership.”

2008 Updated Surplus Lines Insurers List
Insurance Department of banking and insurance Division of Property and Casualty has issued a notice regarding the List of Special Risks. Take notice that effective June 20, 2005, Acting Commissioner of Banking and Insurance Donald Bryan, pursuant to the authority of the Commercial Insurance Deregulation Act of 1982, hereby promulgates the list of special risks described in N.J.S.A. 17:29AA-3K.
